What type of renewable energy system(s) do you use?
no systems yet
Describe your system(s)
I lived for 6 years off the grid on Orcas Island in Washington and loved it! We used minimal energy for the amount of energy we were producing with the Harris Hydro system and a small solar electric array.
The micro hydro system had one nozzle that fed over 2 psi to the turbine. The water source was a year round spring approximately 1500 physical feet and approx 900 feet elevation to a 2000 gallon cement water tank that was always overflowing, even in August. Originally there was 4 inch cement pipe that wound its way around Mt Pickett behind our house, finally we had our last water leak and couldn't find it in the woods. So a new sch 80 2" pipe was run overland all the way down the mountain to the site.
The solar array was a roof mounted system of two 35 W modules, amazingly enough this pretty much supplied all our power needs in the summer.
I miss those days and since then I have moved on to promote and educate the public on solar and energy efficiency at both non-profits and for profit companies.
Why do you use renewable energy systems?
secure energy supply (backup power), to reduce my carbon footprint, to teach others
In your own words, what else motivates you to use RE systems?
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:( email@example.com ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.
