What type of renewable energy system(s) do you use?
photovoltaics (PV), no systems yet
Describe your system(s)
Our small cabin is off the grid with fairly good exposure to the sun. We have 400 Watts of PVs charging 8 L16's wired for 24 Volts. The Trace 4024 inverter supplies our AC needs and our fridge and communications run on DC. Our wood stove heats the house and 50 gallons of water through a stainless steel heat exchanger within the firebox which thermosyphons through the storage tank. Our metal roof is guttered and we can store up to 5 thousand gallons which is pressurized with a DC pump, filtered, and sent throughout the house. Our shower is heated with a homemade batch-type water heater made from an old hot water tank, painted, and placed in a glazed, insulated box. Our next project is installing the evacuated tubes on the roof to heat our 50 gallon tank during the summer. Work too has been started on the microhydro system to harness a small streams flow which falls roughly 100 feet through our property.
Off-grid or grid connected?
grid-tied (no batteries)
Why do you use renewable energy systems?
remote location - no grid power available, financial benefits
In your own words, what else motivates you to use RE systems?
RE just makes good sense. So much of the energy we think we need is so readily available even in the grey (sometimes) northwest.
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:( firstname.lastname@example.org ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.
