What type of renewable energy system(s) do you use?
photovoltaics (PV), wind, wood/biomass heating
Describe your system(s)
Tax return bought Two 180 Watt "Evergreen" Solar panels two 400 Watt "Air-X" Wind turbines a 2400watt "Xantrex" inverter and some switchgear, Deep cycle batteries we had from other projects and purchased a few, My first year goal was to run all the light in the house and this years goal is more solar for running home entertainment devices green livingroom. Our primary heat for the last 20 years has been a forced air Jensen wood stove.
Off-grid or grid connected?
grid-parallel (not intertied)
Why do you use renewable energy systems?
off-grid by choice, secure energy supply (backup power), to teach others, to be eco-groovy
In your own words, what else motivates you to use RE systems?
I have always had a interest in electricity and Hot technology, I think its an innovative way to make power. I'm self sufficient enough that we could go for a week in a winter blizzard without power and be just fine. My neighbors walk by and ask me about my turbines and panels and occasionally they want a tour of the only solar home I know of in my town. Plus this is the kind of renewable energy that we are going to need to get the planet out of the hole and solve the ever rising energy crisis.
Your set up is similar to mine, but I am lucky to have a small creek across my property. The microhydro is a steady producer! I to live in town and 99 percent of the public don't know I make my own power. If someone is curious I do show off the system. Take care, Jim Cataldo
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:( email@example.com ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.
