Up to 50% of the cost of a PV system can be the installation costs. Here se demonstrate a do-it-yourself installation using 2x4's from home depot, connected to the studs in the asphalt shingle roof with nails and connected to the panels using metal screws and metal angles. The wires go through a circuit breaker/fuse box. Nothing could be simpler. There is a disconnect where the wires enter the house and connect to the charge controller and battery bank. Installation costs were under 50 bucks.
